so you don’t need to reinvent the wheel.

About Us

The Commercial Solutions Company was established by Garth Borgelt to provide commercial support to executives throughout Australia. Having been a CEO and General Manager reporting to a Board of Directors, Garth understands the difficulty in obtaining high level cost effective support to manage organisational and development projects. His vision was for this support to be provided:-

  • Flexibly, using technology and IT systems to interface cost effectively,
  • With low overheads and without incurring the costs of a CBD office,
  • Focussed on a return on investment of an agreed multiple factor

The Commercial Solutions Company will not try to be a consultant for all things, but will focus on the commerciality of initiatives using subject matter experts if & where necessary.

You have probably heard the expression that “It is lonely at the top”, meaning that most CEO’s or executives often cannot bounce things off their staff; they must often make business critical decisions on their own. Garth provides an executive support with the experience and skills to give business critical guidance; his wide experience helps owners and executives not having to reinvent the wheel or make the same mistakes others have already made. He is someone who you can bounce ideas off and help develop strategies to grow your business safely and sustainably. He can also be someone who you can rely on to then implement those strategies to achieve the measurable improvements to your business.

Philosophy

A well run business is a critical balance of all the aspects involved in the business:- from the technical aspects of each job, to the organisational aspects that remove the roadblocks inhibiting optimum performance, through to the individual employee ‘fit’ with the organisation. Far too often we find businesses focus too much on the technical aspects of the individual’s skills, forgetting that these skills are some of the easiest learnt skills for an intelligent person. Yes of course they need experience and knowledge in the technical area of their job, but in today’s fast-paced environment, the team skills, motivation and passion of the individual together with the organisational processes, leadership skills and management systems of the business are generally the differentiators between good and great results. There are many other aspects that must be balanced in the organisation to produce continual, sustainable, measurable improvement, but balancing this triumvirate of technical, organisational and team skills is a good starting point.

Our philosophy, in all that we do, is not to pre-empt or to provide a ‘one size fits all’ solution, but to focus on the aspects that are out of balance for the business at that time in their evolution.

Its that simple, and its that hard.  Fortunately, when you focus on the root cause inhibiting performance, (rather than a symptom)  it starts to become easier and self-perpetuating.

If the definition of “Expertise” is doing something with ease that others find more difficult, then Garths expertise is in finding this balance and focussing on the things that matter for that business:- The things that will really start to drive the business forward. He has a history of achieving outstanding results by simply doing this.
